Terms & Conditions
1. All calls are recorded for training and monitoring purposes.
2. Please be aware that the legal status of our entire private hire taxi/driver fleet, is self-employed, they are not employees of Crown Cars. Customers should always book their journey via our App, Website, or Telephone, otherwise; the journey will not be insured.
3. You must order a suitable size vehicle for the number of passengers and luggage. Crown Cars cannot guarantee to carry excessive amounts of luggage. Please note that a child, no matter what age, counts as one passenger.
4. Crown Cars do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error free. Use of the services provided by Crown Cars, is done so, entirely at one’s own risk and discretion. Crown Cars do not guarantee the availability of a taxi at any time, or the availability of the service. Crown Cars will use all reasonable endeavours to pick-up and drop-off customers to their destination on time, but will not be liable for any loss, due to delays, beyond the company’s control. Under no circumstances will Crown Cars be liable (in contract, tort, or otherwise) for any loss of profits, business, or indirect consequential loss.
5. The Company and driver reserve the right to decline any booking/s, or request payment for taxi services up front. The company may request any passenger/s to leave the vehicle, if it is deemed his/her conduct is incompatible with the safety of the driver.
6. It is a Criminal Offence to get into a taxi and not have payment available for the journey taken. Failure to pay will result in the Police being notified and your personal details submitted to them.
7. You will be responsible for the behaviour of all passengers in the vehicle, during the journey. In the unlikely event of the vehicle being soiled by passenger/s, you will be charged accordingly, to cover cleaning costs.
8. Any damage caused to the interior/exterior of Crown Cars vehicles, by passengers, will be charged accordingly.
9. Eating, drinking and smoking in the cars is not permitted.
10. Crown Cars will not carry more passengers than their insurance, or licensing permits.
11. All luggage and personal belongings are carried entirely at your risk. Crown Cars will not be responsible for loss, or damage caused to any items, whilst in the vehicle.
12. All children travelling during the journey should be restrained in a manner appropriate to their age, weight and height. UK law states that taxis are exempt from legislation, relating to children travelling in a baby/child seat, or booster. For Health and Safety reasons Crown Cars are unable to provide any form of child seat. It is the child’s parent/carer’s responsibility to provide/fit and secure the child in the vehicle. The driver is not responsible for storing child seats, on return journeys (please note that the installation of the child seat must be carried out by the customer/passenger).
13. Crown Cars are entitled to cancel all services and provide refunds in the event of a declared national emergency, riot, war, fuel shortage, extreme weather, terrorist attack, or other circumstances beyond their control. If in the event of a car breakdown/issue during your journey, Crown Cars will endeavour to arrange an alternative car to complete the journey, as soon as practicable.
14. If you have a problem, or complaint, it is essential that you inform the driver immediately. If you wish to make a formal complaint, please notify our office in writing no later than 7 working days after your journey.
15. Without prior notice Crown Cars reserves the right to amend, change, delete, or add to these terms and conditions, whenever it deems necessary.
16. Quoted fares for pick up, or journey times, are best estimates. Crown Cars will not be liable, if a pick up, or journey time, exceeds the estimated price originally confirmed, or otherwise, exceeds the Customer/Passengers expectations for whatever reason.
17. Surcharges may apply during busy peak times, traffic hours, special events, festive seasons, bad weather, road closures and diversions. Surge pricing is also specific to different areas, demand, and general availability of vehicles. Drivers may have to travel further, therefore, fares will be enhanced, increased, or fixed to reflect the situation at the time.
18. Surcharges apply Friday & Saturday 22.00pm - 06.00am and Sunday -Thursday midnight - 06.00am.
19. Customers who fail to cancel their taxi (once the vehicle has arrived), will be charged a minimum Call Out fee, which is reflected on the pick-up location/distance travelled. Customers will be allowed 3 minutes, after the driver arrives to the destination confirmed. Charges will apply, if the customer fails to show within this time.
20. Clean air zone, airport pick-up and airport drop-off charges will apply.
21. Fastest route is not always the shortest, motorway journeys may result in more mileage and fare increase.
22. Congestion Charges will be applied when traveling to/from, or through these areas.
23. Crown Cars does not guarantee the vehicle type requested. Crown Cars will endeavour to send the correct vehicle type, however, if unable, will send any vehicle/s available that will accommodate the space/needs required, which may incur extra charges, but this will be prevented where possible.
